Hodgepodge Shawl CAL Part 5

Are you showing off your projects? For this section I have included a few different textures I really enjoy creating and another stitch design in the works for more patterns to come.

I will add the full list of basic abbreviations on every post, however you may not be using all of them in each section.

Basic Abbreviations(US Terms):

SK = Skip

sts = Stitches

ST = Stitch

SL= Slip Stitch

CH = Chain

SC = Single Crochet

HDC = Half Double Crochet

DC = Double Crochet

TC = Treble Crochet

BLO = Back Loop Only

FLO = Front Loop Only

FBL = Front Bottom Loop

FP = Front Post

BP = Back Post

SPECIAL STITCHES IN THIS SECTION:

DC Cluster =

STEP 1: (YO, insert your hook in the CH SP, YU & pull up a look, YO & pull through 2) the amount of times indicated (ie. 3 DC or 5 DC),

STEP 2: YO & pull through all loops on your hook(4 or 6)

Reminder: change colors at the end of the rows, whenever you feel the need.

ROW 30: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC in the first ST, CH1, repeat(3DC Cluster in the CH SP, CH 1, HDC in the next 4 sts) 12 Times, 3DC Cluster in the CH SP, CH 1, HDC in the next 3 sts, in the next CH SP place DC/CH3/DC, HDC in the next 3 sts, CH 1, repeat(3DC Cluster in the CH SP, HDC in the next 4 sts, CH 1) 12 Times, 3DC Cluster in the CH SP, CH 1, HDC in the last ST

ROW 31: CH 3(counts as a DC) & turn, 2DC in the CH SP, CH 2, repeat(3DC Cluster in the CH SP, CH 2, DC the next 3 sts together, CH 2, SK the next HDC) 13 Times, CH 2, in the next CH SP place 2DC/CH3/2DC, CH 2, repeat(SK the next ST, DC the next 3 sts together, CH 2, 3DC Cluster in the CH SP, CH 2) 13 Times, 2DC in the last CH SP, DC in the last ST

NOTE: “DC the next 3 sts together” is exactly the same as the “3DC Cluster” except each time you insert your hook go into the next ST

ROW 32: CH 3(counts as a DC) & turn, DC in the next 2 sts, repeat(DC in the first CH SP, CH 1, DC in the next CH SP, DC in the first CH SP again, CH 1, DC in the next CH SP again, SK the 3 DC together ST) 13 Times, place 2 DC in the next CH SP, DC in the next 2 sts, in the next CH SP place DC/CH3/DC, DC in the next 2 sts, place 2 DC in the next CH SP, repeat(DC in the first CH SP, CH 1, DC in the next CH SP, DC in the first CH SP again, CH 1, DC in the next CH SP again, SK the 3 DC together ST) 13 Times, DC in the last 3 sts

ROW 33: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC in the first 4 sts, HDC in the CH SP, repeat(FPDC, HDC in the DC, HDC in the CH SP, HDC in the DC, HDC in the DC, HDC in the CH SP) 12 times, FPDC, HDC in the DC, HDC in the CH SP, HDC in the the next 6 sts,

in the CH SP place HDC/CH2/HDC, HDC in the next 6 sts & the CH SP,

repeat(FPDC, HDC in the DC, HDC in the CH SP, HDC in the DC, HDC in the DC, HDC in the CH SP) 12 times, FPDC, HDC in the DC, HDC in the CH SP, HDC in the last 4 sts

NOTE: for the FPDC just insert your hook under the 2 loops in the front of the DC ST(see photo).

ROW 34: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, FBL HDC in the first 6 sts, repeat(BPHDC on the FPDC of the previous ROW, FBL HDC the next 5 sts) 13 times, HDC in the last 3 sts, in the next CH SP place HDC/CH3/HDC, HDC in the next 3 sts, FBL HDC the next 5 sts, repeat(BPHDC on the FPDC of the previous ROW, FBL HDC in the next 5 sts) 10 times, HDC in the last ST

ROW 35: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC BLO 88 sts, in the CH SP place HDC/CH3/HDC, HDC BLO 87 sts, HDC in the last ST

ROW 36: CH 3(counts as a DC) & turn, DC FLO in the next 88 sts, in the CH SP place DC/CH3/DC, DC FLO in the next 88 sts, DC in the last ST
