Easy Rectangle Dish Scrubber Crochet Pattern

Looking for a new dish scrubber to add to your kitchen or for building craft show stock? Check out this textured rectangle design that's tested and approved for use and is one of my absolute favorites for sure!

Here's what you'll need to get started....
Materials:
Lily Sugar N' Cream 100% Cotton Yarn in 2 colors(approx. 25 yds total)
H(5 mm) Hook
Scissors
Needle
Abbreviations(US Terms):
SK = Skip
sts = Stitches
ST = Stitch
SL= Slip Stitch
CH = Chain
SC = Single Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
DC = Double Crochet*
*this is a spiked stitch. Work over the chain as if it doesn't exist and go into the skipped stitch in the row below the one you are working in.
NOTES: Finished scrubber should measure approx. 3.5” by 4” with the Lily Sugar N' Cream cotton. Using Premier Home Cotton instead will cause a slightly smaller scrubber at 3.25” by 3.75”

To begin CH 12.
ROW 1: SC in the 2nd CH from your hook & in the next 10 chains(11)
ROW 2: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & Turn, repeat (SC, CH1/SK1) 5 times, SC in the last ST
ROW 3: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & Turn, repeat (SC in the SC, *DC in the SK ST) 5 times, SC in the last ST
ROW 4: REPEAT ROW 2
ROW 5: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & Turn, repeat (SC in the SC, *DC in the DC) 5 times, SC in the last ST

ROW 6: REPEAT ROW 2
ROW 7: REPEAT ROW 5
ROW 8: REPEAT ROW 2
ROW 9: REPEAT ROW 5
ROW 10: REPEAT ROW 2
ROW 11: REPEAT ROW 5
ROW 12(wrong side): CH 1(does not count as a ST) & Turn, SC in each ST across(11)
Cut, tie off & weave in your ends(or just hide them inside later) on your front panel. Now create the back panel exactly the same but do not cut.

SEAMING:
CH 1(does not count as a ST) and rotate to work down the side. Place your front panel on top of your back panel(wrong sides together) and work through both panels together.

SC in the end of each row(12),

place 3 SC in the first CH & rotate to work along the starting chain, SC in each CH across placing 3 SC in the last CH(15),
rotate to work along the side & SC in the end of each row(12),
rotate to work along row 12, place 3 SC in the first ST, SC across and place 2 SC in the last ST(14), SL to your beginning SC to connect. Cut, tie off and weave in your ending tail.
