Sweet Hexagon Ornament Pattern

As much as I would love to take all the credit for this adorable little ornament I just can't. I really had no thoughts whatsoever when it came to this one. I just sat down, grabbed my hook & yarn, and poof!

This one was definitely spirit led, thank the good Lord. It was definitely a much-needed boost as my mind has been quite unfocused with the hecticness of momming kiddos back to school and building craft show stock.

This little guy was an answer to prayer as I fussed to add new items to my line up for my big shows this fall. People love these little creations for tree ornaments or to add to gifts for a sweet touch to the packaging. I can't even tell you how many of my Hearts & Stars Ornaments have been downloaded since I created those little gems.

Here's what you'll need to get started:

Materials:

Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek Yarn(approx. 15 yds)

H(5mm) Hook

Scissors

Needle

Decorative Button

Jute Twine(approx. 12”)

Abbreviations(US Terms):

SK = Skip

ST = Stitch

SL= Slip Stitch

CH = Chain

SC = Single Crochet

DC = Double Crochet

FPHDC = Front Post Half Double Crochet

BPHDC = Back Post Half Double Crochet

BLSC = Back Loop Single Crochet

Notes: Leave a longer beginning tail to use at the end to attach a button to the center. Finished ornament should measure 4” wide across point to point.

To begin CH3, SL to your first CH to create a loop

ROUND 1: CH 3(counts as a DC), working into the loop: DC, CH1. Repeat(2 DC, CH1) 5 times, SL to the top of your beginning CH 3 to connect (12 DC & 6 CH1 total)

ROUND 2: CH1(does not count as a ST), FPHDC on the CH 3, FPHDC on the next DC, Repeat(in the CH SP place DC/CH2/DC, FPHDC on the next 2 sts) 5 times, in the last CH SP place DC/CH2/DC, SL to your beginning FPHDC to connect

ROUND 3: CH1(does not count as a ST), repeat(BLSC 2 sts, BPHDC on the DC, in the CH SP place DC/CH2/DC, BPHDC on the DC) 6 times, SL to your beginning BLSC to connect

ROUND 4: CH1(does not count as a ST), SC BLO 4 sts, repeat (in the CH SP SC/CH2/SC, SC BLO next 6 sts) 5 times, in the CH SP SC/CH2/SC, SC BLO last 2 sts(or if you can't get into that last ST just put 2 in the next to the last ST so the sides are even), SL to your beginning SC to connect

Cut, Tie off & weave in your ending tail.

Use your starting tail to attach a decorative button of your choice to the center. Pull the CH SP points to block. Attach Jute Twine to one of the CH SP points as a hanger.

Just flatten it out to block, that's it! Super easy & super cute to boot!!!
