NOTES: This hat is made to fit the average 22” female head circumference. The yarn used in creating this pattern is on the thinner side of a medium 4 yarn. Feel free to add more of the brim rounds to add more height if needed.

To begin CH 4,
ROUND 1: place 11 DC in your very 1st CH, SL to the top of the CH 4 to connect (12)
ROUND 2: CH 3(counts as a DC), place an additional DC in the 1st ST, place 2 DC in the remaining 11 sts, SL to the top of your beginning CH 3 to connect (24)
ROUND 3: CH 3(counts as a DC), place 2 DC in the next ST, repeat (DC, 2 DC) 11 times, SL to the top of your beginning CH 3 to connect (36)
For gauge your circle should measure 3.25” across the center at the end of round 3.
ROUND 4: CH 3(counts as a DC), DC in the next ST, place 2 DC in the next ST, repeat (place 1 DC in each of the next 2 sts, 2 DC in the next ST) 11 times, SL to the top of your beginning CH 3 to connect (48)

ROW 9: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC in the first 2 sts, CH 1, SK 1, HDC in the remaining 66 sts(69)
ROW 10: repeat ROW 8
ROW 11: repeat ROW 9
ROW 12: repeat ROW 8
ROW 13: repeat ROW 9
Now you will begin connecting at the end of the round again.
ROUND 14: repeat ROW 8, SL to your 3rd DC to connect(4th ST)
ROUND 15: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC through the 4 overlapping sts placing 1 HDC in each through both layers, HDC in the next 61 sts, place an additional HDC
