18" Doll Pocket Scarf Crochet Pattern

This adorable pocket scarf is the perfect winter accessory for any 18” doll(ie American Girl, My life, etc.).

Here's what you'll need to get started....
Materials:
Studio Classic By Nicole Yarn in Gentle White(approx. 100 yds)
I(Boye 5.25mm) Hook
Scissors
Needle
1-3/4”(20 mm) Button
Abbreviations(US Terms):
SK = Skip
sts = Stitches
ST = Stitch
SL= Slip Stitch
CH = Chain
SC = Single Crochet
HDC= Half Double Crochet
BLO = Back Loop Only
FLO = Front Loop Only
Notes: To adapt this pattern to other lengths chain any multiple of 4 then add an additional 2 chains to the end. If you'd like to use a foundation SC row to begin, the calculation is a multiple of 4 plus 1. Final measurement with this pattern is 20 ½” x 6” not counting the collar portion.
To Begin CH 70
ROW 1: SC in the 2nd CH from the hook and across. (69 total)(right side)
ROW 2&3: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC BLO in each ST across(69)
*ROW 4: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in the first ST, CH3/SK 3, SC in the next ST, REPEAT (CH3/SK3, SC in the next ST) across
*ROW 5: CH1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC in the same ST, in the CH space place 2 DC/CH1/2 DC, REPEAT the grouping(2 DC/CH1/2 DC) in each CH SP across, HDC in the first SC of the previous row
*ROW 6: CH1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in the same ST & CH 1, REPEAT (SC in the CH SP of the grouping in the previous ROW, CH 1, SC in the space between the groupings, CH 1) across, SC in the first HDC of the previous ROW
NOTE: should Measure 19” x 2” after ROW 6
For Rows 7-9: Repeat Rows (4-6)
ROW 10: CH1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC in the same ST, place 1 SC in each CH SP and each SC for a total of 69 sts
ROW 11 & 12: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC BLO in each ST across(69)
POCKETS:
At the end of ROW 12, CH 1 and rotate to work along the end.
ROW 1: Place 1 SC in the end of each ROW & add an extra ST to the end of row 5 & 8 (14 total)
ROW 2: (creating the fold) CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC FLO in each ST across(14)
ROW 3-8: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC BLO in each ST across(14)
First pocket: Once you complete row 8: cut, tie off and weave in your end.
Second Pocket: Turn your panel wrong side up and attach your yarn to the last ST in ROW 1 (where your starting tail is). Repeat pocket directions. DO NOT CUT AT THE END.
Lay your panel right side up and fold your pockets on to the panel. Count over 9 sts from the end of the panel and begin SC stitching the panel and the side of the pocket together.
ROTATE & SC across the bottom of the fold(14 total).
ROTATE & Count over 9 sts from the end of the panel to mark the ending point. SC ST the panel and the side of the pocket together.
SC across the side up to the next pocket.
Repeat the stitching for the second pocket.
SL in the next 10 sts across the top
COLLAR PORTION:
ROW 1: SC in the next 31 sts
ROW 2: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC BLO in each ST across(31)
ROW 3: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC BLO in the first and second ST, CH1/SK1(creates the button hole), HDC BLO in the last 28 sts
ROW 4: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC BLO in the first and next 27 sts, HDC in the CH SP, HDC BLO in the last 2 sts
ROW 5-7: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, HDC BLO in each ST across(31)
ROW 8: CH 1(does not count as a ST) & turn, SC BLO in each ST across(31)
Cut, tie off, and weave in your ends. Attach your button to the front left side of ROW 3.
